DIY Etched Dog Treat Jar
Hopefully you made your furry friend the dog treat recipe we posted a while back. If not you can find it here. We want to take your treat game up a notch and show you how to make a fun etched treat holder. What I love about this craft is that it’s super easy and turns out looking really great. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Glass jar with a lid- if you’re like me you may have one of these lying around. You could even upcycle an old spaghetti sauce jar, just spray paint the lid when you’re done
- Painter’s tape
- Stickers
- Paint brush
- Glass etching cream (you can get this at any craft store)
Step 1
Apply stickers or spell out a word with stickers on your jar. Make sure the stickers are on tight since you don’t want any etching cream to get under your stickers.
Step 2
Apply the painter’s in a frame close to the lettering and make sure it’s tight. Also ensure it’s straight so your etching is nice and clean.
Step 3
Apply the etching cream (according to the directions on the package) to everything inside the painters tape and allow to dry. I left it on longer than the directions said, about 15 minutes.
Step 4
Run the jar under water to remove the etching cream. Peel off the stickers and tape and dry your jar.
Step 5
Hooray, you finally made a craft you can use. Whip up a batch of homemade dog treats and you have a great gift for yourself or someone you love
